So called, due to the crescent shaped front elevation, Moonraker’s provocative curves sit proud on one of Poole’s most renowned street scenes, known as ‘Millionaire’s Row’, in Branksome Park.
The property was sold from plan and occupies a sylvan plot surrounded by pine and oak trees; these offer both privacy and security to the star style mansion. The bow was achieved with the use of concrete Milton Rings given support by the masonry.
The inside of the rings were then used to form the vast chimney. Even the garage door has a curvature. For Seven – having previously built mainly in straight lines – this was a new experience in construction. A new departure and a brave experiment resulted in great success.
